    CLERK TO SCHOOL GOVERNING BODIES

We’re looking to hear from governance professionals and committee clerks who are interested in clerking governing bodies at local schools across our Trust.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced committee clerks who enjoy flexible working and want to make a meaningful contribution to strong, effective school governance.

This may suit you if you are:

An experienced governance professional looking to expand your portfolio
Highly organised, confident in advising governing bodies, and familiar with statutory requirements
Interested in flexible, term‑time commitments with local schools
Have previous experience of clerking meetings in an educational setting

    Role:

Preparing agendas with the Chair of the committee
Ensure meeting documents are received and uploaded to the portal in advance of the meeting
    Take minutes and distribute
Follow up any actions to be taken and report back at the next meeting
Advise the Chair of statutory requirements and the operation and remit of the committee.

    Locations:

Schools across the Midlands – our schools are based in the Tamworth, and Wolverhampton areas and consideration will be given to individual preferences.

Engagements: Flexible, part‑time, term‑time (remote and in‑person meetings). Committee meeting dates are set and are held either during the day or evenings. Successful candidates will work on a self-employed or casual contract basis depending on an individual’s circumstances. Travelling expenses will be payable. We envisage that 12 hours per committee will be required and are flexible (except for attendance at committee meetings).

If this sounds of interest, or if you know an experienced clerk who may be looking for additional work please email info@endeavourmat.co.uk to start the discussion.
